Kayne New
Founder

About The Founder

Kayne is a former professional tennis player having played on the International Tennis Federation Circuit for 8 years including on the European Tennis Circuit. Having also played extensively on the Australian Tennis Circuit Kayne was able to reach a singles ranking inside the top 100 in the Australian rankings. A highlight of Kayne’s Junior tennis career was representing his home state of Western Australia in the National Teams events.

Duringo b Kayne’s extensive playing career he was fortunate coached by former international professional tennis coaches. This provided him with valuable experience covering a wide range of coaching methods which Kayne has adapted in his current approach to tennis coaching. During this time, Kayne developed his strong passion for Tennis Coaching and now his past experiences include coaching at major Tennis Clubs in Western Australia, New South Wales and Hong Kong.

In 2018 Kayne founded the Great Shot Tennis Academy in Hong Kong and has established a broad range of tennis clientele ranging from juniors to adults across a range of age groups and skill levels. Kayne is extremely passionate in his goal of ensuring every tennis lesson improves the Student’s game and helps them to progress. Kayne focuses on both tennis skills and fitness whilst making sure the lessons are vibrant and enjoyable. At the cornerstone of Great Shot Tennis Academy quality tennis programmes is Kayne’s very simple coaching philosophy – The more ball struck in a lesson the better the student will become and their progression will be faster.

Why?

It all comes down to the way our coaches approach their lessons. Tennis is one of the most technical sports in the world, and our wonderful coaching team led by Kayne Ryan makes learning the technical aspect of the game not only incredibly easy but fun.

The technique is the starting point for any student improving their tennis. It is the foundation of learning the Great Shot way and will promote any student to then learn the other fundamentals of consistency, attack, and defense, footwork, strategy, and match play tactics.

Mini-group lessons with our then 3-year-old, group lessons for the children, privates for my husband to improve his technique, and weekly skills and cardio tennis lessons for me. Coach Kayne can work with any group or ability and designs the lessons around the needs of the individual or group. He continued to coach me until I was almost 8 months pregnant… so really has had the whole family on the court! Personally, I can highly recommend the ladies cardio classes for a great work-out, chance to hit a lot of tennis balls, and have a lot of fun.
